  • latest satellite imagery shows a broad and weakly organized system with convection consolidating closer to the center/core of the system.
  • expected to regains Tropical Storm status (75-95 kph) within the next 24-36 hours as it moves toward the South of Hainan Saturday night.
  • rainbands of the said cyclone are still affecting the western coast of the Philippines (Western Luzon-Central Luzon-Southern Luzon-Northern Palawan) facing the Western Philippine Sea

Banyan just downgraded as Tropical Depression..Intensification is anticipated within the next 36-48 hours

  • just downgraded as Tropical Depression  and expected to pass Northern Palawan later tonight. Intensification is possible within the 36-48 hours as it moves toward the warm water of the West Philippine Sea.
  • latest satellite imagery shows TD Banyan is generating weak, widespread convection over the islands encircling the Sulu Sea.
  • Rainbands are still affecting across Visayas, Palawan, Bicol and Southern Tagalog Provinces. Estimated rainfall amount is from 5-25 mm/hr.
  • Residents in low lying and mountainous areas under Public Storm Warning Signals are alerted against possible flashfloods, landslides.
